Understanding Post COVID or Long COVID Symptoms

According to the center for disease control:

Post-COVID Conditions

Some people who have been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 can experience long-term effects from their infection, known as Post-COVID Conditions (PCC) or Long COVID. The working definition of Post-COVID Conditions was developed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in collaboration with CDC and other partners.

People call Post-COVID Conditions by many names, including: Long COVID, long-haul COVID, post-acute COVID-19, post-acute sequelae of SARS CoV-2 infection (PASC), long-term effects of COVID, and chronic COVID.

What You Need to Know

  • While most people with Post-COVID Conditions have evidence of infection or COVID-19 illness, in some cases, a person with Post-COVID Conditions may not have tested positive for the virus or known they were infected.

But you ask, what is the cause? What started everything, what triggered the inflammation? It was the pathogen, the COVID virus. The problem is that the immune system was turned on and has not turned off. We explain this and all the reasons in our understanding inflammation section.

So all the post COVID or long COVID symptoms are coming from chronic inflammation, and chronic inflammation may be caused by viruses, but there are many other causes — viruses are only one of them — so if you clear up all of them, then you have the best chance to heal the long COVID and have the symptoms go away. But it has to be a comprehensive effort: you cannot address just one or two of the inflamers. So if you have long COVID symptoms and would like to discuss how to treat this naturally, just click on the box below and fill out the form and one of our health associates will contact you.
